While the awareness of algorithmic discrimination is growing and the call for legal regulations is quite ubiquitous, Nikolaus Forgò argues that the EU's AI Act will be hardly an effective cure for digital discrimination. Instead approaches for non-discriminatory data sets and algorithms have to be developed together with social scientists to create a more equitable digital world.

For Katja Mayer it is essential that technology development thinks along social responsibility from the beginning. In times of increasing automation it is required that technologies do not harm human values.
